Little Kokeshi was bored every day standing on the shelf at the store.
One day, she lost her balance and fell off the shelf into the box on the floor.
After a while, the delivery truck came and picked up the box that Kokeshi was in.
Oh no! Where will Little Kokeshi go?
Little Kokeshi’s adventure starts now!
ちいさなこけしは、毎日お店の たなの上に、じっと 立っているのが とても
たいくつでした。ある日、ちいさなこけしは バランスをくずし たなから おちて、
ゆかにあった はこの中(なか)に、入ってしまいました。しばらくすると、
たくはいびんの トラックが 来て、ちいさなこけしが 入った にもつを、引きとって
行きました。まぁ、たいへん！ ちいさなこけしは、どこへ 行ってしまうのでしょうか？
ちいさなこけしの ぼうけんが、いまから はじまります！

What is Kokeshi?
こけしってなあに？
Kokeshi dolls are wooden dolls that have been made in the Tohoku region of Japan for over 200 years. It started with a woodworker (Kijishi) who made woodwork such as bowls and trays using a potter's wheel and made Kokeshi doll for his children. Toys for children gradually became popular as souvenirs for hot spring visitors and spread to many people. There are 11 types of traditional Kokeshi dolls. They have various shapes and pattern and each one is made carefully with care by craftsmen (Kojin) who have inherited the Kokeshi tradition, technique, and culture.
こけしは、日本 の東 北 地方 で 200年 以 上 も前 から 作 られている、木 で出来 た お 人 形 です。 ろくろを使 って お椀 やお盆 などを作 る、木 工 の 職 人 （木地師 ）が、子供 のために 作 ったのが、 その始まりです。子供のための おもちゃが、だんだんと 温 泉 に来 きた人 の おみやげになって、 たくさんの人 ひと たちに 広 まっていきました。 伝 統 こけしには 11のスタイルがあり、 形 や模様 がさまざまです。 こけしの伝 統 、技 術 、文化を受 継 いだ、こけし 職 （工 人 ）の手 て で、1 つずつ 心 こころ をこめて、 丁 寧 ていねい に作 つく られています。
